The GIF608-1 limit detector interface extends a BC600 series fire alarm control panel by 8-Detection lines for the connection of one or more detectors or detection contacts. Each detection line can be assigned to either a logical detector group or a group element. This means that several detection lines can be combined in one detector group and operated together. Depending on the type of detector, the function of the detection line - for example manual fire detector group, automatic fire detector group, technical message, fault message or system input - can be individually parameterized. The GIF608-1 has its own processor. In the event of a failure of the central module, the diverse redundancy concept ensures reliable alarm detection. Each input of the limit detector interface is protected against overvoltage, which ensures a high level of reliability. The limit detector interface is controlled and supplied with power via the control panel's system bus. A firmware update and the transmission of the parameters are also carried out via the system bus. The "hot plug and play" function allows the limit value detector interface to be inserted and removed during operation. The module is automatically recognized by the central computer. The status of the bus communication and the module is displayed via an integrated LED. The wiring of the detection lines is done in the form of spur lines. A wire break or short circuit is displayed on the control panel as a fault in the detector group or element. The use of plug-in screw terminals for the detection line connections simplifies maintenance and replacement of the module. 8 freely configurable OpenCollector outputs are integrated into the GIF608-1 for general control tasks. The outputs can be used to directly control an RL58-1 or RL58-2-Relay module.
